Visit SEE THE STARS on STAND W33

The Veterinary Council of Ireland is participating in the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition and is presenting a special award in the category 'Biological and Ecological Science'.  The Veterinary Council of Ireland’s stand helps visitors to learn what is involved in being a veterinary practitioner or veterinary nurse. It features a life size horse (called See the Stars) which is used to demonstrate to students. The stand has been put together with the help of the UCD School of Veterinary Medicine and is staffed by students who will answer any questions you may have about working in veterinary medicine.  You can also find out how students (completing their Leaving Cert or A Level in 2018) can enter an exciting competition to win a position on a week-long Summer Programme in the UCD School of Veterinary Medicine worth €300. More information available at http://www.vci.ie/Utility/News/2017/Competition.

Veterinary medicine is a hugely important profession, dealing not only with animal welfare but with food safety, new food sources, livestock healthcare, medical research, and environmental protection.
