The Register of Veterinary Practitioners

The Register of Veterinary Practitioners ("the Register") is maintained by the Council pursuant to the Veterinary Practice Act 2005 and particularly to Part 4, only persons whose names are entered and retained on the Register are entitle to practise veterinary medicine in the State.  The Register is available on line via the Council's website www.vci.ie.  A fee is payable for the retention of a veterinary practitioners's name on the Register and veterinary practitioner's are obliged to complete and submit an Annual Registration Form.  Veterinary Practitioners are also obliged to notify the Council of any changes to their entry in the Register.

The Register of Veterinary Practitioners contains four parts:-

(a) Registered Veterinary Practitioners

(b) Veterinary Practitioners permitted to provide services in the State

(c) Veterinary Practitioners granted limited registration

(d) Veterinary Practitioners registered as veterinary specialists
