Registration Requirement - Veterinary Practitioners
It is a legal requirement and, therefore, essential that you register with the Veterinary Council prior to engaging in any type of veterinary work in Ireland.
The Register of Veterinary Practitioners
The Council maintains and keeps the Register of Veterinary Practitioners and only persons whose names are entered and retained in the Register are entitled to practise veterinary surgery in the State.
Right of Establishment
With the implementation of EU 2005/36/EC, as provided for in the Veterinary Practice Act 2005. The Fee for the issue of a Right of Establishment Certificate is €28.00.
Registration Requirement - Veterinary Nurses
The Council maintains the Register of Veterinary Nurses and only persons whose names are entered and retained in the Register are entitled to practise veterinary nursing in the State.
